Selfridges A Home For All

A Home For All was an immersive installation by The New Craftsmen in the Ultra Lounge at Selfridges during London Craft Week May 2017. The project seeked to explore and discover what the feeling of home might be, in a sensory journey that encouraged thoughts and rituals in four atmospheric environments: rest, gather, play and cleanse.

Makers Tom of Holland and Aimee Betts were invited to host a series of workshops based on the theme 'Stitch & Play', using naturally dyed fabrics created in collaboration with Lola Lely and Meena Chodha from Window135. The end result was a large patchwork communal cloth hand stitched by eighty participants over five days.
