Materials & Sustainability
Aimee takes time to source and discover materials that are the highest quality and stand the test of time.
She uses ethically sourced European cow leather.
The kangaroo leather is humanely and ethically sourced, from Australia’s strictly regulated population control program to keep balance in the ecosystem and populations.
Reducing the carbon footprint where possible, the wooden lamp bases are hand turned in Gloucestershire and hand finished in Aimee’s studio in Berkshire, while the frames for the mirrors are made in Buckinghamshire.
The Benefits of Leather
Bio-degradable
Leather is a natural material, which means it is fully bio-degradable.
Long lasting
Known for its strength, leather is a highly-durable material, allowing it to stand the test of time. It is also flexible, while keeping its shape and strength.
Easy to maintain
Leather is a breathable material and is lint resistant. It’s easy to clean with a cloth.
Ages beautifully
Natural leather develops a patina, becoming darker, when treated with oil or when touched often or worn. Even if nothing happens to the leather, it will develop a unique patina over time.
