The Ricasso Barrel Table Lamp is a cylindrical form with a hand braided surface. Aimee creates the tightly woven structure by braiding suede, leather and waxed cotton cords, which come together to form a rich texture that becomes animated under the light. The wooden base is hand turned on a lathe in Gloucestershire and finished in Aimee’s studio in Berkshire. Contrasting with the timber below, the brocade work draws the eye and adds intimate detail.
